Farmers in New South Wales (NSW) experiencing drought have finally experienced a respite in the form of drought-breaking rainfall, in a much-anticipated turn of events. This week’s storms that pounded the state provided an excess of desperately needed moisture; in certain places, over 100 mm of rain fell. More than 70% of NSW has been experiencing extreme drought conditions, according to the Department of Primary Industries, so this rainfall is a much-needed lifeline for farmers.
