What is ‘experienced’ when it comes to dam building?

Is someone who has built 5 dams experienced? Because they will probably tell you there are.

We’ve completed 341+ dams since 2002. So to us, the word ‘experienced’ means – do you know what you’re doing?

1. Dams are all we do, every single working day of the year (and when we have an occasional day-off, we’re probably working on our own dams on our properties)
2. When we build a dam, we do it right first time (50% of our work is fixing the mistakes of ‘experienced’ earth movers)
3. We inspect and design before we quote, so the fixed price is based on your actual site, not a guess
4. We charge a fixed price per megalitre: $12,000 + GST per megalitre up to 3 mgl, sliding down to $8,000 over 3 to 5 mgl, $7,000 over 5 to 10 mgl, $6,000 over 10 to 20 mgl and $5,000 + GST per megalitre over 20 mgl, excluding mobilisation and fuel surcharge. Dams just above each size break are charged a transition rate, so a larger dam never costs less than a smaller one. Everyone else charges hourly – because that’s good for the contractor – but not good for the client

Are we the cheapest option?

No. We’re probably the more expensive option. And there’s a good reason for that. 

We have 3 years worth of work on the table ahead of us because we’re the best.

That doesn’t mean you’ll have to wait 3 years, it just means that we have 3 years of projects – massive to small – being planned, scheduled, approved, requisitioned & quoted at the moment. Everything from 100 megalitre mine processing dams to 3 megalitre small farm dams. We’re busy because we’re good at what we do

If you don’t want to do the job properly, there are plenty of options out there for you.

There are a lot of earthmovers who have hocked themselves to the teeth and brought machines, but have no work, and need to pay their leases or they’ll lose their machines.

They’ll work for virtually nothing to keep their machine turning over
